Severe ME on the BBC

Three years ago I spent a year being filmed for a program called Inside Out on BBC 1 East. It's a documentary programme which covers stories of local interest.

I had done a couple of radio interviews and was then asked to take part in the show. I didn't originally the commitment I was agreeing to as I thought it would just take a day of filming but it turned into several sessions spread out over nine months.

Physically and emotionally it was really hard, much harder than I ever imagined and it brought up a lot of forgotten emotions and caused a massive relapse. All of which were really hard to deal with.

Fortunately though seeing the final results has made it worthwhile and has hopefully raised awareness of what it's like to live with severe ME.
